Directions

Place hummus, cheeses and turkey on large board or platter. Fill in empty spaces with vegetables, crackers and snacks. Add a small bowl of barbecue sauce, and more small bowls of pickles and toasted corn snacks for some crunch.

 

This Backyard BBQ Board can be tailored to fit any number of servings, depending on the size of your gathering. Use a guideline of 2 Tbsp. hummus, 1/2 oz. meat, and 1 oz. EACH cheese, and crackers or snacks per serving. For a well-balanced board, fill in empty spaces with fresh fruit. For the 20 servings shown here, figure on purchasing 2 (10-oz.) containers of hummus, 1-1/4 lb. (20 oz.) of cheese (total weight of both cheeses) and 10 oz. of turkey. Be sure to have plenty of crackers, snacks and vegetables on hand.

 

Tips: Substitute your favorite pickles, such as sweet gherkins, for the dill pickle slices. Substitute cucumber slices for the cut-up red peppers or tomatoes. You should plan on having a total of 4 cups of vegetables on hand to arrange on the board.
